In the south of the city of Leuven lies a region that has built up a real reputation for gravel cycling in recent years: gently rolling hills, gruelling climbs and characterful gravel sections combine to form a landscape that is just begging to be explored. Leuven Legacy Gravel is the ultimate finale that fully honours the legacy of the 2023 Belgian and European Championships and the 2024 World Championships in this gravel region. It's also a qualifying race for the 2027 UCI Gravel World Championships, which will take place during the Super World Championships in the French Alps (Haute-Savoie) from 24 August to 5 September.
Leuven Legacy Gravel takes you through the heart of the Brabantse Wouden National Park, finishing at the Philipssite in Leuven.
The official qualifying distance for elite men and women, men under 60 and women under 50 is 132 km with approximately 880 metres of elevation gain. Men aged 60 and over and women aged 50 and over will ride a distance of 86 km with approximately 560 metres of elevation gain.
